Since people occasionally ask what the other witnesses testified to (besides Ashurkov), I’ll write a bit about them as well.
For example, according to the NY court documents, the bankers needed an «expert,» David Aminov—a professor at the Department of Public Law and Legal Support of Management at the State University of Management. His job was to discredit the testimony of the Russian witnesses in the Probusinessbank case, Alekseev and Krylova, and to argue that their statements couldn’t be considered genuine witness testimony.
On what grounds? For one, because their statements were allegedly obtained «under duress.»
Or, because the time of the interrogation wasn’t specified (I’m not kidding—see the image below!).
Alekseev and Krylova, both former Probusinessbank employees, described the company’s inner workings in their testimonies, and the details they provided closely corroborate the schemes that have been published. Understandably, having testimony from former employees was a major headache for the fugitive bankers, so they brought in this «expert» to challenge it.
Chez’s note: David Aminov is not just some nobody.
